I Heart Instagram.
The husband and I are not big on technology. We don't try to keep up with it, and are pretty firm believers that if it ain't broke, we don't need a new one.
That phone died a few months ago, so we got a 4GS (whose camera is way better) and then discovered that though the phone itself wasn't working to make calls and to connect to the roaming network, it would indeed connect to our home network. And for that I was thrilled because it meant that I could use Instagram around the house during the day even when the new phone was off to work with the husband.
I love Instagram. I think it is such a neat app. I love that it can capture a quick snippet of your day and that it can be shared with followers. I have posted pictures of food, plants, things around the house, dump finds, library scores, and plenty of in-the-works Milo and Molly stuff (mostly taken at night while I'm working). I use it to advertise and to sell things. It's awesome.
We do have an iPhone. We decided to buy one just before Gus was born, in June 2009, already behind the trend. We wanted to be able to easily take pictures and videos of the new baby to send to the in-laws in Florida.

Most of all, I love that it's real and real-time (for the most
part). It's almost like a behind-the-scenes look into life. I love
looking at friends' pictures because I realize just how different
everyone's living situation is, from the place they live to how they
decorate their house. You see what they're up to as it's happening. I
don't think the photos need to be professionally done, then uploaded to
your phone. I don't think you need to maintain a "wall" if you're a
business. Everything you read points to the fact that customers want to
know who they're buying from, and readers want to know who they're
following, and I think that Instagram is a great tool for that.
I hope you'll follow along with me!
Do you use IG? How do you like it?
You KNOW I love IG. lol
ReplyDeleteI like to use the app Photo+ to take photos, doctor them a bit (mostly to lighten since IG doesn't really take photos in the dark all that well) THEN post on IG. I've even used Photo+ to take photos for my website (though 95% of my shop's pix are with my Nikon).
Keep up the fun IG photos. See ya there :)

I'm way behind in the technology with my phone. I have a pretty basic phone so no IG for me. I'm not sure if I would like it if I did have a phone that would support it. Once I do upgrade one of these days I'll have to get it and try it out. I do like that I don't see edited and well done pictures. It just seems more natural and impromptu when it's just basic photos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love instagram. And, I love it so much more than facebook. It's so much more positive and fun, rather than being negative and judgey so often. haha
ReplyDeleteI'm really, really behind... I just got my iphone 4s a few weeks ago. But I love it, and instagram, too! I'm not used to having it yet though, so I keep forgetting to put it to good use :) Going to follow you now!
ReplyDeleteheart instagram big time. i do not, however, heart the iphone. Android for the win! ;)

Obviously I love IG! I take photos of everything. I like the impromptu nature of it as well, but then I also find myself relying on my iPhone too much lately. I need to get back to my camera for the things that matter and keep my iPhone in the back pocket for the fun every day life stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteI love IG too! I love to see projects people are working on, and just every day "daily life" kind of photos. Also, I Instagram photos of outings/food/etc that I would never blog about so it's an easy way to share more with people who'd like to see what I get up to. :)
ReplyDeleteI love IG too! I need to be better at taking pictures though. I love your pics of everyday life! How are you at keeping up with the hashtag trend? It definitely makes me feel a lot of pressure to be clever :)
