Dog People are Good People.

A few days ago I was talking with Heidi about how it's hard to find a good place to sponsor your shop or blog and know that you are going to get results (aka traffic) to your site.  It's kind of a crap shoot, unless you have gotten a recommendation from a friend who had a good experience, and even then, what worked for them may not work for you.  Anyway, as I got to thinking about the blogs I follow along with most steadily, a theme emerged: people who have dogs and who talk about how much they love their dog and show photos of their dog (not that this is the only thing they write about, of course, but you know they are a dog person).  Is this a coincidence?  Does this mean that people who are devoted to their dog are more consistent, honest, and trustworthy than others?  Are they more open and friendly?  (I searched for a study, but didn't find anything conclusive.)

I don't know the answer to this, but I thought it would be a good excuse to show off some photos of Casey because, I mean, look at that face.

  1. Awww, Casey! I love the one of her looking out the glass door, ready and so alert! And yes, dog people ARE good people! Maybe it's because there is a sensitive side to animal lovers. I used to joke that guys who have their hearts melted by holding a tiny kitten in their hands are probably boyfriend material. I mean, seriously, they have to be pretty sensitive to react that way. So maybe the dog thing is true! :)

  2. The door one is especially funny, since there's over 2 feet of snow piled up in front of it. If we had opened it she would have backed up immediately. She hates getting wet.

I think animal lovers are good people for sure, and if you show how much you love them then I think that just shows your personality.

  3. Ahh! Look at the mop! What a cutie.

Clearly I am also a dog person. :)

To be fair, I have friends with dogs who are flakes, and friends with cats who are consistently reliable, so I'm not sure it's a B&W divide.

  4. I agree totally. And I don't really think it's one way or the other either, though I think if you have a dog and don't care about it and lavish it will love and kisses there may be something wrong with you. (Joking.) (Kind of.)

Like I said to Heidi, though, there is something about people who have and display complete kindness to animals. It's so endearing.

  6. But if you had a dog, I think you'd talk about it all the time. :)

  8. Aww, what a cute pup! I don't have a dog, but I love dogs, and we did have one when we were kids. Now I am wondering about the places I advertise...do they have dogs? Hmm.

  9. Haha! Makes you think about it, right? Too funny!

  10. Well, I don't have a dog, but I really like them. One of my best friends has a dachshund and she's the sweetest thing ever. They dressed her up like a ladybug for Halloween and I almost died.

Awww...what a cutie :) I agree...Dog people are good people. Or rather, pet people are good people. I love following BeadedTail's blog and seeing her adorable cats every day :)

  14. Yes! Anyone who openly spreads that much love for their pet HAS to be a good person!

  15. This research should
include ensuring that each of the ingredients is not harmful to your dog. This
is necessary because many ingredients that we would not consider harmful could
cause irreversible health problems and even fatalities in dogs
