Juicy

In trying to eat a little healthier and drop those last few baby pounds, I've been trying to take a look at what I eat in the day, and in doing so, I noticed a lack of fruits and vegetables during the day, though we always have a good serving of them at dinner.  For some reason I'm having a hard time thinking about grabbing an apple or banana or washing some grapes when I need a snack, so I've found a temporary replacement to ensure I'm getting more:

I have an 8-ounce glass of the green stuff in the morning.  Every morning I've done so, Gus says, "That green stuff looks nasty!" (He's 2 1/2, don't forget, and now this is the funniest running joke ever.)  Hubs agrees.  And while it does look a little gross, it tastes really good.  There's tons of fruits and veggies in it plus some other good stuff- just don't look at the label if you don't want to know some of the non-traditional ingredients.  The blue and the red are a little more color friendly and taste great, too, and I actually do feel like I have more energy during the day.

Now to drink more water.

  1. I find drinking water to be one of my biggest health challenges. This week I've been adding a slice of lemon and lime and it's helping.

  2. Hello there from Nutshell Farms...I snagged one of your buttons! :) We have one at our blog as well NutshellFarms.blogspot.com

I have tried the Green Goddess drink before, and I think it was more about the texture...but I just couldn't choke it down. ha! I like some of the other Bolthouse drinks though...and LOVE the POM drinks! :)

  3. I would say 90% of the beverages I drink a day are water only. I thought it would be harder to get into the habit but it has actually pretty easy (once I got over the caffeine headache hump lol). But I'm one of those people who think water is delicious - My husband for example thinks it tastes awful.

I have a great pin in my "Recipes To Try" for how to make homemade popsicles, that's one way to get more juices into your system (plus your kids!) and it feels like a treat so I'm less likely to want to snack on chips or chocolate lol.

  4. I drink those a lot, too. Veggies are pretty easy for me to eat, but I usually don't get much fruit. Maybe it's because most of it requires washing/peeling? God, I'm lazy.
