Week In Review
Another week lost on the blog! Well, I have a good excuse this time. Really, I do! The husband was on a business trip to the Chicago area last week, so I was here with the two children and the dog slowly losing my mind.
But seriously, it was a busy week. I was trying to keep Gus busy so he wouldn't notice too hard that Daddy was missing. We had the grandparents over, we went over there, we went out to lunch, we went to stores, we visited friends (mine, not his), we took the dog to the dog park, which surprised Gus because we only ever do that with Daddy. Not suprisingly he still ended up having a meltdown Friday night, mere hours before the hubs was to arrive on Saturday morning, as if he knew he was coming home and he'd just had enough.
In the midst of all that, I was scraping wallpaper (yes, still), spackling all the digs and nail holes we found under the grass cloth, and then sanding it down and making a mess. Add that to the mess the hubs made before he left- I made him scrape the popcorn off the ceiling and sand it, so there was dust everywhere- which left me mopping the floor five or six times just to clean up all the dust. However, all the grass cloth is down, the hallway is wallpaper-free, the ceiling got primed last night, and we are well on our way.
Overall it was a fast week, but there were points that were very trying and we are all very glad to have Daddy back home.

Whew! I got tired just reading that. Everything looks great, though!
ReplyDeleteI hope your husband enjoyed his trip to the greatest city on earth! Did he have a chance to do anything fun while he was here?
What a big project! Don't you just hate popcorn ceilings? Who ever thought that was a good idea?
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Blogging Buddies
Looks like you are making good progress - I absolutely detest dealing with wall paper! Good luck :)

ReplyDeleteAm intending to return the favour!
Well, the house can only improve from this point on. I dislike popcorn ceilings as well...
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what the space turns into!
I'm still agog at the wonders you worked with the master suite -- can't wait to see what you do with this space. ;-)
