What I Just Read: Business Edition

I took a break from my book-turned-chick-flick series to read something a little different for me: a book on business.

Recommended by a cousin of mine, this is a great read for someone with or starting a small business.  It is formatted in a series of short essays each focused on a common section theme, so the reading actually goes quickly.  You don't feel like you're stuck muddling through a lot of lingo, either- the authors make it pretty simple.  The gist of the book is that you don't need a lot to make a successful business, and in fact, the less you can get away with, the better.  But it's more than that- it has sections on ideas and waste, and how you don't have to follow the tried-and-true rules of business in order to be successful.  It is a pretty positive read for someone selling handmade items out of their home, all on their own.  I would recommend it to anyone trying to do the same.

  1. Hmmm, short essays, you say? That sounds much more doable than any other business book I've tried to read. The key word there is "tried."
