Too Many Choices

We had a really busy weekend.  As you know, we decided that our next house project(s) would be the master bed and bath, which were that really fabulous shade of blue.  Hubs and I did what we could and in a few days time, those two rooms look like this:

That musty, crusty wallpaper actually pulled down in whole sheets, which was an amazing and wonderful experience, as I have sat with my scraper for hours in a few of these rooms.  The carpet, which was gross and spotted, has met its demise, and the same goes for all the brass in the bathroom.  All that remains now is the tile floor and a portion of a wall that needs to come down.

And now it's on to the choices.  We need to pick tile, carpet, fixtures, cabinets, etc. etc. etc.  And the worst is the paint.  We know we want to use something in the medium gray-blue range, trying not to get too gray or too purple.  There are a few choices:

Crazy, isn't it?  That's just The Home Depot and Lowe's.  Imagine if we ventured into smaller paint stores...

  2. Looks like so much work! We need to tear out our bathroom floor, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

  3. Awesome! Are you going to re-install everything yourself?

  4. It is a lot of work, but it's so worth it in the end! Paige- yes, we do everything ourselves (read: my husband does most of it). It's amazing what you can learn to do using YouTube videos, and if your brain functions like my husband's, then you can do just about anything. Plus, it saves us a lot of money, which is key. The only things we haven't done ourselves is install the carpet and bulldoze the rock piles in the backyard. :)

  5. Good luck! I redid my parents bathroom as a Christmas gift for them. Spent a total of 40+ hours getting the wallpaper down! I picked a blue-gray also and it ended up looking great. It actually looks a lot like that middle shade of Behr in the second from the top stack lol. Good luck and have fun!

  6. Love all those color swatches! We recently painted a bathroom gray and I had the same dilemma, trying to get a color that wasn't purply or blueish. I ended up using pearl ash from walmart. It is perfect, but wouldn't be dark enough for a larger space.
